Monoglass® is made from a combination of 53% post consumer recycled glass and 5% recycled manufacturing glass. The total volume of recycled content is not less than 58%.
What Makes Monoglass Spray Applied Insulations Green?
- The high R-values of Monoglass and Sonoglass insulations are in themselves part of the reason our products are considered green products. By virtue of being a good thermal insulator, Monoglass & Sonoglass reduce the amount of fossil fuels required to heat a building, thereby reducing the amount of greenhouse gasses that are put into the atmosphere. In addition to this, the heating costs for the building are reduced.
- As an inorganic, naturally non-combustible material, our insulations needs no additional chemicals to reduce flammability.
- Our insulations are fiberglass based and therefore do not support the growth of mold/fungus, unlike cellulose/paper based insulations which are organic and require considerable added chemicals to prevent mold and fungal growth.
- As a naturally white product with high light reflectance, Monoglass and Sonoglass can help reduce the amount of energy required to light an area. The high light reflectance also provides a safer environment at night.
- The PVA binder used in our insulation application has only trace VOC emissions. When applied, the amounts of potential VOC emissions are approximately .000053% by weight.
- Both Monoglass Spray-On & Sonoglass Acoustic insulations, as well as our Insulseal Protective Coating, meet CDHP Standard Method V 1.2 low VOC emissions requirements.
